Reporting to the Head of Embedded Software, your role will be focused on proactively designing and developing software for a variety of electronic products.This role is 12-month maximum term contract with possibility to extend/move to perm. Specific responsibilities include:Designing and developing control algorithms using embedded C++Designing and developing low level software (inc. abstraction and peripheral drivers)Collaboratively work with a cross functional team to develop a unique user experienceBring up new boards, including sensors and actuatorsDevelopment of test applications using PythonProviding solutions to complex engineering problemsOptimising and improving system architecturesIncorporating feedback to improve user experience Qualifications and experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similarExpertise in C++/C programming in embedded targets as well as PC for unit testingHands on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing embedded C++/C codeExperience working with Git version controlExperience with the real-time operating system (FreeRTOS)Experience with source code management, unit test, code review, and issue tracking systemsExperience with IDE’s like IAR, eclipse, KeilHands on experience in Python for high-end embedded systems like RPi and PCHands on experience on new MCU’s like STM32 and older architecture like RenesasSome level of experience with AWS/Amazon or other IoT platformsExperience with advanced building systems such as CMake, SCONS, mbedTest driver development coding styleSome level of experience in embedded Linux development (user space and system level)  Key attributes:Must have exceptional attention to detail, written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both autonomously and as a collaborative team memberProblem-solving skillsUnderstanding of computer control system, digital signal processing, filters etc.Ability to multi-task and meet deadlinesGood understanding of electronic circuitry (review and troubleshoot not design)Highly motivated, adaptable, and proactive We offer a positive and rewarding team environment and a competitive remuneration package, as well as great employee benefits including flexible work arrangements and helpful discounts on all our products. 80000 AUD Sydney 2007
